To be back in L.A.

Organic produce Mexican food! Coffee

Besides my hubby and my friends, these are few of the things that I missed while I was back in Sweden. Even if I enjoyed the food and the cold weather back home, there’s something special with a California sunset… Mexican food… The organic section at the grocery store… 75 degrees and blue skies in March… You know what I’m talking about!

Even if it’s lovely to be back in L.A. I do miss my kiddos something terrible, and I’m praying that 3 months will go by fast. That’s when their summer vacation from school starts and they will hop on a Jetliner and come see me! I can’t wait! Seriously, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, I’m so excited and counting down the days!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend, and if you’re reading this and live in the U.S, remember to move your clock forward tonight. Daylight savings time starts tomorrow.

Spring feelings in February!

It was a bit chilly but a sunny Sunday morning in Sweden, you know the kind when it’s right above freezing but then the sun peeks out and starts to warm you up a bit, so after a yummy breakfast of hot cocoa, open faced cheese sandwiches and cereals with milk, we decided to go outside and enjoy the beautiful spring weather. Both my kiddos love the outdoors and we took a walk along the Ljusnan river and we loved every minute of it.

Oh, I just love the smell in the spring, you know when you start smelling the earth again and the melting snow, I know it’s way too early for spring to arrive yet, but still, on days like these… Mmmmmm… Deep breaths and our faces turned towards the sun… Like real swedes, lol.

Sometimes, you just need to sit by yourself and turn within…

I’m feeling so blessed to have these two wonderful people in my life, even if they don’t always get along, (I mean seriously, what kids do?) but on days like these… I LOVE IT!

Olle enjoyed the walk too, even with his short little Jack Russel legs he’s always first in line leading the pack, lol.

Just enjoying the morning by the water… Fresh air… Sunshine… The best company… What else can you ask for? Seriously.

That was our Sunday morning… Which continued with lunch when we came back home and later in the evening we cuddled up on the couch and watched movies. Are Sundays the best day of the week? Sometimes I like to think so…

Feeling Grateful

God must have known that this is what I needed right now to be able to find my way back to myself… Being with my family, feeling the love from my children, seeing beautiful swedish sunsets like this one from my living room window! I feel so grateful for this experience, there’s so much love around me that could last me for an eternity it seems.

When life gets too stressful, as it sometimes can get, especially if you like me, live in a large city like Los Angeles, breaks like these are heavenly. Like a spiritual retreat. You have no choice but to wind down and get back to nature, eat food that’s good for you and just love. Love surrounds everything. I am love.

After all, Love is the meaning of life.

Have blessed and beautiful weekend!

Have a lovely weekend!

My kids at the Central station in Stockholm!

Yesterday, I had the privilege to spend some time at my kids school in Nynäshamn, Sweden, watching them perform in Drama class. And I loved it! What an imagination these kids have, it’s amazing.

Since we live in different communities, we had to travel by train… And believe me, these two kiddos are totally worth it, but I got really tired after a whole day of traveling. I bet they were too. So, this “fika” pause before hopping on our train in Stockholm was really appreciated by all of us! The best part was that we met up with my best friend (since 1981) at the coffee shop too, I love seeing her!

My son loves his chocolate balls, and usually we make our own at home. But this coffee shop we went to had the biggest ones I’ve seen in a long time! I will post the recipe for my homemade chocolate balls here on the blog shortly…

The school has hit full speed after the holidays and the kids are getting lots of homework, so… This weekend is going to be spent doing homework, playing out in the snow, cooking together, watching movies and just enjoying each others company. I love my weekends that I get to spend with my babies!

Anyway, have a lovely weekend, I know I will!

Longing for sunny weather…

When Sweden is freezing cold and it’s snowing sideways, California is the place I long for… It’s funny how, when I’m in L.A. and it’s warm and sunny all the time, I long for the cooler weather in Sweden, and when I’m in Sweden, I always miss L.A. Is there a way to have the best of both worlds? I think I need to figure something out… Just MAKE it WORK!

Have a lovely monday my friends!

Beautiful Oregon State

Last night I was watching a show on TV about Oregon, and OMG, what a beautiful state! I just wanted to move right away. The nature is stunning! Places like these are so soothing for your soul and body, stress be gone!

Good bye lovely summer!

It’s hard to say good bye to summer when it’s been filled with love and joy! And to be honest with you, I haven’t had many chances to write on my book. However, I’ve been writing on it a lot lately, so now it’s still a chapter left and editing… But please be patience with me and it will be done soon…

In the mean time, I had my kiddos visiting me here in Los Angeles, and we had an awesome time, most of the time was spent in the water, either by the pool or at the beach. Both just as lovely!

I did fly back to Sweden with my little ones and visited family and friends while I was there, I loved it so much I’ve had serious thoughts about moving back… We’ll see what happens. Still weighing pros and cons.

Anyway, here’s a few pictures for you to enjoy from both Los Angeles and Stockholm!

To get a day off

Yesterday I was supposed to do a photo shoot with a man and his little newborn baby, but as I got to the location, nobody was there… So I decided to wait for a minute, since I know this person is always on time and very punctual, but he never showed up… I called him to see what’s up and unfortunately he had ended up at the doctors with his baby and forgot to call me, o’well, the baby’s doing fine and we rescheduled the photo shoot to a later date.

So, instead of working on a photo shoot, me and my dear hubby took a drive out to the beach. It was such a beautiful day yesterday and the beach was no different. We ended up at the El Matador beach in Malibu. Wow, what a wonderful place!

I did take a bunch of pictures which will end up in my Etsy shop shortly, so please remember to peek in there every once in a while. Here’s a few of them…

Have a wonderful monday everyone!

Hello monday!

OMG! This has been the craziest 4 weeks of my life… I think… Not only have I been to Stockholm, Sweden, for 3 weeks, but I have emptied my apartment all by myself (since my mother decided to slip and fall and break her arm), spent as much time as possible with my darling kiddos and to top everything off, I got sick with the flu… Yay what a party!

No, but seriously. This emptying my apartment thing, what a great friggin feeling! Who would have thunk it? Who knew I had been such a collector of useless things? I was getting rid of everything from my old life, to make room for all the new wonderful things yet to come… Well, not the photos of my babies and trips we’ve been to… But pretty much everything else! So out of a 2 bedroom apartment, all that is left are 4 boxes of stuff that I’m very fond of and that I would like to bring over to California at some point… But WoW! What a wonderful feeling!
So my thoughts are now, that every year, take a couple of days and go through all my stuff and get rid of everything that does no longer surve a purpose in my life. In fact, I believe everyone should do that. It’s good for our souls.

I had the privilege to spend time with my kiddos, which meant going to the stable with my daughter and help her get her horse ready for her riding lesson, driving my son to his soccer practice, going to the movies and family dinners. I loved every minute of it!

All I can do now, is wait for summer… That’s when my kiddos are coming over to L.A. to spend their vacation with me. I can’t wait!
