God must have known that this is what I needed right now to be able to find my way back to myself… Being with my family, feeling the love from my children, seeing beautiful swedish sunsets like this one from my living room window! I feel so grateful for this experience, there’s so much love around me that could last me for an eternity it seems.
When life gets too stressful, as it sometimes can get, especially if you like me, live in a large city like Los Angeles, breaks like these are heavenly. Like a spiritual retreat. You have no choice but to wind down and get back to nature, eat food that’s good for you and just love. Love surrounds everything. I am love.

Yesterday, I had the privilege to spend some time at my kids school in Nynäshamn, Sweden, watching them perform in Drama class. And I loved it! What an imagination these kids have, it’s amazing.
Since we live in different communities, we had to travel by train… And believe me, these two kiddos are totally worth it, but I got really tired after a whole day of traveling. I bet they were too. So, this “fika” pause before hopping on our train in Stockholm was really appreciated by all of us! The best part was that we met up with my best friend (since 1981) at the coffee shop too, I love seeing her!
My son loves his chocolate balls, and usually we make our own at home. But this coffee shop we went to had the biggest ones I’ve seen in a long time! I will post the recipe for my homemade chocolate balls here on the blog shortly…
The school has hit full speed after the holidays and the kids are getting lots of homework, so… This weekend is going to be spent doing homework, playing out in the snow, cooking together, watching movies and just enjoying each others company. I love my weekends that I get to spend with my babies!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to remind you to check out my eBook Walking on Air. If you or anyone you know suffer from bunion pain, please get this book! It is very helpful and will show you how to get rid of the pain without surgery. In my opinion, surgery is your very last solution to the problem, since it’s not guaranteed to help and in some cases it will only make the problem worse. So please, check it out!
But also, if you have joint pain, it is a good idea to look over your diet. A lot of times joint pain can come from eating the wrong things. Foods to avoid are wheat and sugar. Try to add more avocado, salmon, walnuts, papaya, pineapple, spinach, blueberries, turmeric, ginger and garlic. These foods have all been proven to fight inflammation and boost your immune system.
I think it’s a good idea to start with your diet and reading the eBook Walking on Air, and then go from there.
What’s for dinner? Since I love both Tacos and Pizza, I’m thinking this yummy Taco-Pizza must be combining the best of both worlds, and it’s a healthier choice than a regular Pizza too… Yay!
Ok, here’s what you do:
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a fork or a spatula. Let it brown a bit before you add the Taco seasoning and then cook it for another minute.
Heat oven to 400F/200C.
Toast tortillas (the crust for your Pizza) in oven for a few minutes, then flip them over and let them toast for another few minutes, all together for about 5-10 minutes or until they’re golden brown.
Top your tortillas with refried beans and cheese and pop them back into the oven for about 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
To finish them, top them with the ground beef (you can swap the beef for chicken or turkey if you like!), lettuce, tomatoes, onions and some sour cream. You can add some hot sauce to them too if you like to spice them up a bit.
When Sweden is freezing cold and it’s snowing sideways, California is the place I long for… It’s funny how, when I’m in L.A. and it’s warm and sunny all the time, I long for the cooler weather in Sweden, and when I’m in Sweden, I always miss L.A. Is there a way to have the best of both worlds? I think I need to figure something out… Just MAKE it WORK!
Happy 2015 everyone! I’m really hoping that this year will bring more good changes to my life than last year did… I’ve been feeling lost for a long time, and started connecting to my own spirituality just a few months ago, which has been a much longed for rediscovery. I strongly believe that we have to listen to what our instincts tell us, our gut feeling is seldom wrong. Tune in to your inner voice and follow your heart, if it feels right, it probably is.
This year I want to feel more connected to spirit, to be more true to myself and listen to my own instincts and do what feels right for me. I also want to try yoga. I’ve never done that.
In a blink of an eye, life can change… Just like that… Without any warning what so ever. You leave for work in the morning thinking that you will see your family at dinner time as usual. But God may have other plans for you…
For a little less than two weeks I’ve seen my step daughters life change from happy, to a life full of sadness, pain and a chaos of feelings. Her mom had a stroke, and passed away a few days later. God bless her soul. I wish I could take away my step daughters pain even for a minute, that she didn’t have to go through this yet. She’s too young. Her mom was too young!
I met some of my step daughters family and friends at the hospital, and she is surrounded by so much love and support. She is very blessed, and it warms my heart knowing that she’s never alone.
But it shows just how fragile life is. You never know what’s going to happen. So please, tell your loved ones how much you love them, and do it now. Later may never come.
I have to say that I feel lucky to have a job I love, it’s so inspiring to meet awesome people like these two… You can feel the love between this father and his adorable son, and you can’t become anything but happy hanging out with them!
So yes, I feel privileged and very lucky to be able to do what I love and meet all these wonderful people.
